About Kinkyfish

KinkyFish are a company of actors dedicated to theatre, script and venues that are a little bit different. We are London based, though our actors and directors come from all over the world.

Formed in 2008, bonding through our love of the theatre and a shared vision to bring something different to the audience KinkyFish was born.

Our first show The Tempest was performed in December 2008 to intimate audiences. In it, we took our inspiration from French dramatist Antonin Artaud who believed the audience should be more than just passive observers who sit back and observe from afar, as much as possible they should be in the middle of the ‘spectacle’. In July 2009 we took these principles again and performed Our Country’s Good to greatly increased audiences.

In December 2009 we took things in a different direction with three performances of A Dream Play by August Strindberg at Oxford House, London, and on the back of that success we took it for two more runs in 2010, at the 503 Theatre in Battersea, London and then to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe to a packed theatre at The Space @ Venue 45.

We are currently devising our next project and will announce details here shortly.
